Let’s be very portuguese for a moment. Let’s go to the Douro region and talk about family, food and identity.

The Douro Valley could as easily be called the enchanted valley, such is the beauty and magic that its landscapes offer.

Sofia Ferreira from BrancoPrata was invited by Jeanette from Evoke DC to design a portuguese table. She chose to think about the true essence of a portuguese table: the table cloth from the grandmother, the simple decoration and the good food that fulfills our soul. Diogo Sanches Pereira, sommelier of Casa do Ecos and chef Pedro Lemos brought good food, wine and portuguese soul to this little project.

Casa dos Ecos is located on a ridge among the vineyards with a magnificent view of the Douro River at one of the Symington family’s most iconic estates, Quinta do Bomfim – famous for producing Dow’s Ports. Five generations of Symingtons have farmed this estate for over a century.

The pop-up aims to create a unique space for people to experience authentic Douro culture in an informal setting.
